Why A Lead Capture Funnel Is Essential For Facebook Ads Success

Knowing what a lead or sales funnel is and what it does is essential for you to succeed in Facebook Ads. Otherwise, you’re leaving money on the table because you’re not optimizing your ads for every stage of the sales process.

For simplicity’s sake, we’re going to define a sales funnel as having three stages: the top, middle, and bottom. To get higher conversion rates, you’ll need to create separate types of ads for each stage of the funnel.

Stay with me…

Top of Your Sales Funnel

For instance, at the top of the sales funnel, people wouldn’t know your brand, and what you do, so you need to introduce yourself to them. For this purpose, Brand Awareness and Reach ads are great objectives to use for your Facebook ad. You don’t want to sell on them aggressively as it could turn them off your brand. Instead, try to offer something of value. When they engage with your ad, you can re-target them later on with another ad.

Middle of Your Sales Funnel

At the middle of your funnel, your audience will be at the stage where they will be more likely to consider your business as the solution to their pain point. Since this is your second point of contact with your audience, they’d be more likely to engage with your ad. You can use different campaign objectives depending on what you want to achieve. For instance, you can choose from Traffic, Engagement, App Installs, Video Views, Lead Generation, and Message objectives on Facebook ads. Maybe a few people in your audience will be willing to buy something from you now, but most of them will need some more prodding. So we go into the next stage of the funnel…the bottom.

Bottom of Your Sales Funnel

The bottom of the funnel is where you ask people to buy your stuff. You’ve already made some contact with them – they’ve engaged with your past ads, they’ve visited your site, signed up to your mailing list, downloaded your app, and more. They should be ready to buy now. You can create a Facebook ad with any of the following objectives – Conversions, Catalog Sales, and Store Visits. When you create the perfect ad, one that will resonate with your bottom of the funnel audience, then you’ve got them in the bag. You can also do a few split tests so you can find the winning ads, which you can scale later on.

Home Office Set-Up: 5 Things To Consider

When you set up your home office for the first time there are 5 simple things you should take into consideration. You must take into consideration your  space, quiet, lighting, office tools and security.  Implementing these 5 things can make your office more enjoyable and help you work more efficiently.

A home office can be a space where you work full time, pay your bills, or finish the work from the office outside your home. No matter how you use your home office it has to function in the same way. Below is a brief description of the 5 most important things to consider when setting up your office.

1.  Space

Space is very important in the sense that the amount of space we have to work in can create certain feelings and emotions that can affect the way we work. If you have ever worked in a small office cuticle for any number of times, Office Deskyou have probably felt caged or cramped at least once. Feeling cramped can impede your work by distracting you from the task at hand. For most of us, we enjoy enough space to stretch our arms out in front, out to the side and of course above our heads. You need space to move from your desk to the filing cabinet or bookshelf. You don’t have to have a spacious cathedral like room to work in, but definitely enough space to be comfortable in.

2.  Quiet

Your office should be a peaceful area where there are little to no distractions. You wouldn’t want your office next to your child’s bedroom, where they are crying or blasting their favorite music.  If your office space is to be used for work, you need quiet for concentration and focus that will allow you to complete your tasks effectively and efficiently.  If you have a choice, try putting your office in the room furthest from the room(s) that would bring the most distractions.

3.  Lighting

Lighting can be seriously important for your morale and for the health of your Desk Lampeyes. Poor lighting can cause blurred vision and serious headaches. If you are forced to squint or sit absurdly close to your screen due to the level of light, then it’s time you invest in a desk lamp. If you prefer natural light, then set-up your office space near a window, plus looking outside the window could put you in a more relaxed mood while working.

4.  Office Equipment

If there is one piece of office equipment to invest in, it’s a comfortable ergonomic office chair.  So many people suffer from back and leg pains due to sitting in a poorly constructed office chair. You want to have a cushion seat for Ergonomic Office Chairyour bottom, proper support for your upper and lower back and the arms.  You will need an office chair that can be raised and lowered to adjust to the comfort of your legs.  Purchasing a comfortable office chair can make hours in the office much more comfortable. And when you are done working for the day, you can leave the office behind instead of taking the pains with you.  Make sure you invest in the right computer or laptop for your business needs.  Please refer to my previous post:  http://firstratemarketing.com/acer-a-high-quality-laptop-for-your-business-needs/

Wireless OfficeJet All-In-OneAlso, invest in a good Wireless Office Jet All-In-One machine that will fax, copy and scan.  Now, if you choose not to invest in an OfficeJet, you can choose a virtual fax machine and eFax online.  eFaxing does eliminate the headache and expense of OfficeJet repairs (or replacement), paper for the machine, ink cartridges, etc.  I think you get the picture.  You can reference my previous post:  http://firstratemarketing.com/efax-your-documents-dump-your-fax-machine/

When running a home office business, you want to be extra cautious of your home safety and security.  You want to take the necessary steps to protect yourself, of course, as well as your office equipment, the equipment needed to effectively operate your business.  Don’t forget to speak to you insurance Computer Security Softwareagent to get extra coverage on your valuable office equipment. In addition, you would want to invest in a really good software security package for your computer.  It’s important that you protect your customer’s private and sensitive information if stored on your computer and the proper security software should take of that.

If you pay attention to these 5 areas when setting up your home office, you will save yourself a lot of stress and frustration.  If you feel comfortable and happy when you walk into your home office, you will work more effectively and efficiently.

How To Market Your Shopify Store

Alright, let’s say for a moment that you already have your online Shopify store set up and ready to take orders. Ideally, you’ve already tested the ordering process to make sure your payment processors are working correctly, and that orders go through.

What’s next?

Marketing your Shopify store of course!  It’s time to get your product or service in front of your targeted audience.

Oh, and by the way, take advantage of Shopify’s offer to get your store online and fully functioning for FREE!  This is a limited time offer so don’t procrastinate!

There are many ways to market your Shopify store, but your method of choice will depend on your specific market.

Generally, I find that social media is the clear winner when it comes to
marketing most online stores. This is especially true if your market’s
demographic is under the age of 40, but you can still reach people of all ages via social media.

Facebook has the widest range of demographics available. You can market for free on Facebook with a page or group, or you can use paid ads to reach
even more people.

Pinterest and Instagram are both great for selling products, because theyPinterest Mobile Marketing
are highly visual platforms, which allows you to really show off your items in a way other platforms can’t easily match. Visual platforms are perfect for any Shopify store.  Case in point, when a potential customer comes to your store, they will see the photos of your products.  Make sure your pictures are vivid, high quality pictures that your potential customers can’t resist clicking on.  We’ll talk more about photos later in the post.

If you’re not using Pinterest for your Shopify marketing, here are a few tips to get you started:

Use Coupons

Pinterest users love coupons and they love the exclusivity that comes from discovering something on Pinterest and then being able to save money on it. Special Offer CouponYou can use third-party sites like Groupon to set up deals, as well as applications like Wishpond. SEO

Many people use Pinterest for their business with no regard to optimizing their Pinterest page, pins or boards for search engines. Always use good SEO practices with Pinterest.

Run Contests

If you want to make your Pinterest follows take note and increase the traffic to your Shopify store then you want to run contests regularly. Contests are exciting and they end up being shared a lot more often. Contests can Contestintroduce you to a whole new audience on Pinterest. You can either host the contests on your own Shopify site or you can host them on Pinterest and drive traffic to your site.  Wishpond  also works well for contests.

Use Rich Pins

Rich pins are something relatively new to Pinterest. Rich pins allow you to pin recipe pins, movie pins and pins on a specific product, which is what you want. You are allowed to update price, product availability and more, plus there is more content for the search engines to find, which means more traffic. Rich pins can be used to showcase special products that you are currently trying to promote or you can use them for your products whenever you post them. This will allow you to get traffic to Pinterest and send it straight to your store.

Now, if you’re not using Instagram for your Shopify marketing, here are a few tips to get you started:

Sign-up With Facebook

This is the most easiest and quickest way to set up your Instagram account. It will automatically allow you to follow your friends that are already on Facebook MarketingInstagram and in turn they will follow you too. Your friends and family will be the first followers on Instagram which will help boost your profile and get you ready for the main deal.

Post Quality Photos

The most important thing on Instagram is the quality of your photos. Having quality photos on Instagram will help you get more likes, comments, and more followers.

Like Other Photos

Marketing Strategies For Small Businesses At Little Or No Cost

Many small businesses are run from home computers and fall under the radar of business statistics. Whether you are working for a multi-level marketing company or selling painted bird houses, the difficulty of advertising your products without a budget is overwhelming. Let us face the fact that $20 a month spent on classified advertisement isn’t going to bring in a flood of visitors. Therefore, you need to implement effective marketing strategies at little or no cost to help boost your business and increase your customer base.

Like many of you I run a small  business and have learned through trial and error what works and what doesn’t. Despite putting some notches in my belt I have never stopped learning.  In the beginning, I wasted money paying for different types of advertisements. Some worked a little more than others, but I knew I needed more.  Regardless, I continued to research, educate myself, and apply the right marketing strategies to get the results I wanted.  Consistency is key!

What marketing strategies did I use ?  There are plenty of marketing strategies out there, but I wanted to share four strategies that will make a difference, especially if you’re working with little to no budget.

Marketing Strategies #1  –  Email Marketing

Instead of paying for lists and possibly getting in trouble for spamming I send The Email Lifelinebusinesses a very personalized email message.  How do I find these businesses?  I find them by looking on the web, going to their homepage, reading a little about them, and then sending them a personalized email about my product or service. The key is personalization. Write a basic sales letter which highlights your product or service and how it can impact their business.  Cost to do this:  FREE

Marketing Strategies #2  –  Content Marketing

Search engines and customers love informative articles. We have all heard the saying, knowledge is power.  Customers want to learn about your business as much as possible. Posting informative articles on your web page will help Master Content Marketingvisitors keep returning for additional information and hold them there longer. Information also increases your credibility as a business to the potential customer. If they agree with what you are saying they are more likely to purchase from you. Search engines, like customers, are constantly searching  for content related information. If your articles are about the product or service you are selling chances are that search engines will rank your site higher.  Cost:  FREE

Marketing Strategies #3  –  Business Cards

Off-line marketing has never gone out of style. It may even be more necessary today than it was in yesteryear. Always have your business cards with you whenever you’re out in the public.

Your business card is another form of advertising.  With this in mind, your business card  should represent your business in both words and design.  A well-designed card is one that the recipient wants to hang onto and one that stands out in the crowd.  Remember, your credibility is at stake here, so make sure your business card represent your trustworthiness, honesty, and reliability.

But get this, if you’re having a conversation with a potential customer and that customer asks for your business card and you don’t have one immediately available, your reputation and credibility is at stake and you just lost a customer.  The cost to make business cards vary in price depending on design, card stock, and number of cards printed.  I suggest you go to vistaprint.com and check out their $10 business card deal.

Marketing Strategies #4  –   Ezine Articles

People love free information.  Make sure your articles are informative, professional and worthy then submit those to article databases for free  content. Then websites pick up the article to post on their own site. The trick is to have your personal contact information either embedded into the article or as a tag line on the end. Personally I use my web address and my name. The better your article the more times it is posted around the web and the more customers you will get.  Cost:  FREE.

The following explanation of Ezine Articles was taken from ezinearticles.com:

  • EzineArticles.com is a platform for experts in over 600 niche markets who share their expertise in the form of short articles (400-800 words long) for the benefit of having access to the tens-of-millions of monthly visitors the site receives.
  • EzineArticles members submit their best quality original articles in exchange for being able to post a resource box, with a link back to their website at the bottom of each article. This link drives pre-qualified visitors (traffic) back to their website.
  • Members get traffic, market visibility to their target market, media exposure and a platform on which to build their own platform… for FREE.
  • EzineArticles.com gives experts in 600+ niche markets a “voice”… a chance to be exposed to their target audience.
  • In terms of marketing strategies, EzineArticles.com is more like a “Grassroots” strategy because membership is free, yet the traffic results over time are very tangible.

I couldn’t have explained Ezine Articles better!

These four strategies work together to enhance the popularity of a website and reduce the amount of time you waste everyday. Writing informative articles about your product and submitting them to ezine directories helps to improve your sites search engine rankings, retain your customers and increase overall exposure. Passing out business cards and networking with other owners works well together and kills two birds with one stone. Sending out personalize emails and reading about your customers’ site helps to increase your understanding of your customers needs while advertising to them.

In a nutshell, the overall strategy of any business is to make more money and spend less time and resources doing it.

How To Get FREE Traffic Using YouTube Videos

Using YouTube video marketing to drive traffic to your web site is an online marketing strategy many small business owners and internet marketers are beginning to embrace, with much success. Having a traditional website only allows you to reach those people who first find your website. However, combining video, social networking and some simple video marketing techniques can drive hordes of qualified visitors to your website.

First, lets forget the silly videos you’ll find all over YouTube of kids running into fences and demonstrating the newest dance move. While that kind of video can bring in hundreds of thousands of views, it won’t bring the targeted traffic you need.

Instead, consider making a YouTube video tightly targeted towards your niche. A real estate agent might make a video introducing herself and showcasing a few of her available homes for sale. A night club might make a video commercial with soundbites from party goers. A software developer might make a video demonstrating his latest application.

Because Google and other search engines are beginning to give videos hosted on sites like YouTube preferential search engine ranking, its quite possible your video could end up on the first page of search results for your targeted keyword phrase. This is incredibly powerful and not to be overlooked, as this is what will make your video marketing efforts well worth the time you invest in them.

Consider that YouTube itself may not have a huge market of people looking for videos on American Real Estate. But if your video titled American Real Estate made the first page of Google search results (again, due to the preferential search results video is receiving in the search engines) you’d benefit from the hundreds of people who search for that term in Google seeing your video as the #1 result and in turn, watching your clip.

With the preferential treatment YouTube videos are receiving in search results, the question then becomes, How do I move people from watching my video on YouTube to actually visiting my website?

This is simple. Bribe them at the end of your marketing video.  Well, bribe sounds a little strong, and in some cases, a little seedy, BUT it works!

Here are some ideas to consider:

⇒  Offer them something for free at your site (a consultation, a report, free drink, demo version, MP3 download, etc.)

⇒  Poll them or ask them a question and point them to visit your website to get the answer. People love to give their opinion. You can combine with the free offer, above, by giving them the freebie upon completion of the poll or question. This is invaluable for market research.

⇒  Leave them hanging. That’s right, don’t tell the whole story on your YouTube video instead, tell them just enough to incite curiosity. Then instruct them to visit your site for the complete story or answer.

Each of these ideas are intentionally broad, can be utilized over and over again, and can be molded to fit your target market.

The key here is catching your audience while they’re hot, right after watching your video, then give them a reason to continue on to your website. The truth is that if you don’t, most will simply click through to another video or search result. Capitalize on their attention and tell them where to go and what to do next you’ll be surprised at how many will comply!

To your success…

Make People Want To Join Your Mobile Marketing Campaign

Make customers aware of your mobile presence by placing information about your promotions on business cards, sales receipts, flyers and the like. Make customers excited about being involved with your mobile marketing promotions by making sure there are special deals just for them.  If you’re not quite familiar about mobile marketing, but want to find out more about it, be sure to check out the book.

Utilize Mobile Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Image of Book by Adam Clark, SEO 2018A majority of the mobile searches that are made are done using Google, so having a strong SEO strategy is just as important for mobile marketing as it is for other online ventures. In addition, many devices tailor search results by location, so be sure to include location-specific web pages.

Offer Customers A Reason To Give You Their Mobile Phone Numbers

Have a sign at the register offering an instant one time discount. Give mobile customers first notifications of sales and new items coming in. Customers do not want to be texted without there being a good reason for it.

If you’re thinking about expanding out to a different market with a different product, make sure you start this effort first before you branch out to mobile marketing. It’s going to be very difficult to pull people in from the mobile world to your new product, so go with what got you here and just repeat the process.

Personalize Your Messages

Use the subscriber’s name and make sure the platform you use can inset the person’s inputted information into the message. Having personalized messages helps improve your relationship with your customers. You have only 160 characters and the person’s name is included, no matter the length. Try keeping your messages short when you personalize them.

Advertise

Be sure to advertise your mobile marketing options via other communication channels such as social media sites, print campaigns and your website. With the tremendous volume of mobile applications and trends available to Image of book: Advertise, Promote, And Market Your Business or Websitecustomers, directing them to your mobile options may be the difference between them signing up and not knowing it is an option.  Get familiar with ways that you can promote your business, and yes, you can do it with little to absolutely no money.  Go here to find out how.

Make sure you mention your mobile marketing campaign in your other marketing efforts. You could have a link on your website where people can sign up for it, or mention it on your Facebook or Twitter page. If people know about your mobile marketing campaign, they will be more likely to sign up for it.

Use A/B Split Testing

HubSpot provides a tool that allows you to set up your mobile landing pages to Image of book: Conversion Fanatic by Justin Christiansonperform this testing. You can create two different landing pages that have different copy, headlines, graphics and buttons, and then test them both out to see which one performs best for your business.

Obviously, your goal is to make more money and increase your return on investment. But, you will have many different conversion goals, such as newsletter sign-ups, freebie downloads, sales and more.  Remember that conversions and clicks are nice but money is the point. There are always possibilities that the most clicked and trafficked page is not the one that makes the most money. Therefore, it’s imperative to run the A/B split testing long enough with enough variables to notice. Here’s a good example, don’t sign people up for the same list even if the series is the same; that way you know which list is filled with either A or B respondents.  Here’s a great book that I recommend to explain A/B split testing further.

When you know what your goals are, and test to find out how accurate you have been designing sales pages and landing pages for your audience, you’ll soon get better at converting and making more money.

As you can see, there are many easy things you can do to make your mobile marketing campaign a success. Follow the tips in this article, get the books, and you will be well on your way to reaching your customers and growing your clientele, through the use of successful mobile marketing.

How To Use Content Marketing To Market Your Website

Content marketing is type of marketing strategy that involves the creation and sharing of online material (such as videos, blogs, articles, and social media posts) that does not explicitly promote a brand but is intended to stimulate interest in its products or services, providing a value, solving a problem.

Whether you sell a product or a service, whether your business is conducted exclusively online or only partially over the internet, content marketing is essential. After all, just because you can reach millions of people online doesn’t mean that you will.

After all, how many businesses similar to yours exist online? Without content marketing, how will you set your business apart from your competition?

The simple answer is that you won’t. Therefore, it’s important to understand the ways in which marketing a business online is different from marketing a brick and mortar store in the center of town.

In order to market your business online, you need to understand the importance of content marketing, with quality content.  Quality content – in the form of website pages, blogs and articles that you use to market your site Book: The Content Code– will be what sets you apart.

When your website is created, it’s important to use unique, keyword rich, relevant language. In some cases, your web designer may provide this service, however, if content creation is not a part of their package it may benefit you to hire a content writer to create the text of your website.

Keyword rich, relevant text will help search engine spiders to rank your site. However, it’s important in terms of search engine marketing to regularly update your site – to keep it relevant. A blog is an effective tool for keeping the content on your website fresh.

Think about this for a moment: a blog – short for weblog – is unique, keyword rich and relevant content that is updated daily. Offering great content on your site initially improves your search engine ranking, so wouldn’t it benefit you to have content that updates daily?

That content, however, should not exist solely for the search engine spiders; it should also provide information with your current customers as well as to prospective customers. A blog does just that: it opens a dialog, enabling your business to reach out to your customers and clients providing them with the information that they’re looking for.

Electronic newsletters work in a similar way: with them, you can reach out to those who are interested in learning more about the products or services that your business offers. You can use a newsletter to provide information about upcoming product releases, to offer tips and tools that will save readers time or money, or even to offer discounts and incentives to your subscribers.

Of course, just as you can create keyword rich, relevant content that reach out to your newsletter subscribers, you can use content marketing to draw in a wider customer base. By creating content that focus on keywords and phrases associated with your product or services and publishing those articles or posts in directories online, you will be able to establish your knowledge, experience and expertise in the marketplace.

Those prospective customers who are seeking products and services similar to yours will find you credible and follow links back to your website. They will feel confident that you understand what they are looking for and that your product or service will benefit them.

The important thing to focus on, however, is that your content must be relevant to what current and prospective customers are looking for. Your content must contain the information that these individuals are looking for – and, in order for them to find it, it must be written in a way that draws on your keywords and key phrases.

For many, this seems daunting. Creating fresh, keyword rich, relevant content is not something that everyone is good at – especially when it means creating that content on a regular basis, weekly or daily.

What constitute good content?

1. Your content answers a need or solves a problem that your target readers have. Specifically, your article or post contains keywords that readers search for. For instance, if you are targeting readers with hair loss, then hair loss is a keyword phrase that you can use in your article or post . However, a better keyword phrase is likely hair loss remedy as your article content can be on remedy solutions for hair loss, thus addressing the needs of your reader.

2. Your article or post contains useful resources. Using the same example for hair loss, you can write about where your reader can find the remedy solutions.

3. Your content contains practical tips that your readers can easily apply. A step-by-step guide on preparing a remedy right out from ones kitchen is interesting and unusual.

4. If you are writing a discussion topic, you present alternative views and a healthy discussion on each view.

5. Your content is personalized. You write from your own experiences.

6. You have an opinion on a discussion topic and your ideas are well supported. Support can be in the form of testimonials from experts or references to scientific and proven research. It is okay to write an article based on general information but winning content are those that have supporting reasons for your opinion.

7. Your article or post is up-to-date with the latest information on trends. No one likes to read outdated ideas. This is especially if you are writing on an area that is fast moving like IT or even fashion.

I hope this post helps you understand the importance of writing good content and connects with you audience.  Putting your readers first as you create your content makes all the difference in the world.

Increase Free Site Traffic With Keywords

The accurate use of keywords is one of many ways to generate free traffic to your website or blog. It is often overlooked, under-utilized, and not misunderstood.

What does that mean?

It means that the keywords you choose should accurately reflect the content you have. The reason we use keywords is to help surfers find the content they are looking for. Choosing popular keywords that have nothing to do with your content is a commonly made mistake – don’t do it! Instead, find the most popular relevant keyword and use it in your title.

Be extremely literal and descriptive in your title and then use your keyword throughout your article several times in a natural way.  Never over saturate your article with keywords called Keyword Stuffing.

Here’s what smartblogger.com says about Keyword Stuffing…

Keyword Stuffing

“Filling pages with keywords or numbers results in a negative user experience, and can harm your site’s ranking.” –Google

Let’s get technical for a moment.

If you’re unfamiliar with the term, “keyword stuffing” means using a keyword over and over again in your content in the hopes that it’ll get you a better ranking. For example, let’s say you want to rank for “chocolate chip cookies.” This is what keyword stuffing would look like:

“Chocolate chip cookies are so delicious! I’m going to teach you my grandmother’s chocolate chip cookie recipe for making the best chocolate chip cookies you’ve ever tasted. The chocolate chip cookie recipe makes two dozen chocolate chip cookies.”

The whole article blog post would continue like that, using the keyword “chocolate chip cookies” dozens or even hundreds of times. Never mind the language is so unnatural it’s almost unreadable. It’s optimized, baby!

It’s also dumb. Here’s why:

Keyword density is only a tiny part of Google’s algorithm. Nobody knows for sure how much, but from what I’ve seen, I would guess it’s less than 5%. Next to the more important factors like domain authority and trusted links, it’s almost completely irrelevant.

And if you take it too far, it can hurt you.

Google’s top concern is the user experience. If all the articles people find are stuffed with keywords, no one will want to read them, and everyone will stop using Google to search the web. They’ll never allow it, and some SEO experts believe they actively penalize it.

But let’s say they don’t. Even if you escape totally unscathed, who do you think is going the link to content like that? Nobody with any authority. And since links are a much more important part of the algorithm, you’re dooming yourself to get ignored forever.

My advice?

Don’t think about keywords at all for the first year of your blog. Just focus on publishing jaw-dropping content and getting as many links as you can. Then, once your blog has some authority, go back and tweak the keywords in your most popular posts without making them sound even the slightest bit unnatural.

Yes, you might lose some opportunities, but your chances of building an authority site are much, much higher. Trust me.

If you have a keyword that’s a bit confusing relating to its meaning take your time to explain to them what you are talking about and what the meaning is. When you use your keyword or keyword throughout your article consider using variations of the word(s) and mixing up the order of your keyword phase.

Take a look at Google Keyword Tool and get familiar with how keywords work.  See which keyword search is most used in web browsers and plan how to use it in your article(s).

Keywords are powerful. They help you to place better in the search engines, which means when someone searches for your keyword(s) they are more likely to find you, because you show up sooner in the search engines. This translates to more free traffic to your website.

So, now wasn’t that easy? Just taking the time to choose the best and most accurate keywords can significantly increase your free traffic flow. It will cost you nothing but a little time and you will enjoy huge benefits for your time. What better time to increase your traffic than right now.

How To Generate FREE Traffic To Your Website Starting Today

In the online world, you either have the budget to attract customers or you don’t. It’s impossible to get a steady business going without a storefront, an inventory, and a little advertising to get the word out.  If you need traffic, but don’t have the resources to bring it in, you don’t have to give up hope.

Nothing is free, of course. These methods require a little time and a little elbow grease. But with the right mindset and some perseverance, you can generate lots of free traffic to your site that will put money in your pocket and get you off the ground. Best of all, you don’t need to spend a single penny.

So the only question is, how do you get started with FREE traffic?

Join Forums and Communities

What better way to show off your expertise and skill than helping out people who need it? One of the best things about spending time on message boards is that it allows you to interact with the audience.  What you must do is provide viable responses and advice.  Be sure not to SPAM with over saturating your responses with you website address.  It’s important to first establish a  relationship and confidence in those who read your responses, then add your website address sparingly.

Just as importantly, you can hit your exact demographic. Remember that you don’t just have to hit message boards in the community. General sites like Yahoo Answers are a goldmine for grabbing people who have urgent problems. Just remember that your advice needs to stand out from the crowd and be especially detailed and interesting.

You can speed this process up by feeding your target keywords into the message board’s search engine and commenting on recent posts that mention these topics. Don’t do this all at once, or you’ll be outed as a greedy marketer with a product to sell!

Get Listed

Another way to increase FREE traffic to your website is to get your website listed on online directories and review sites.  Go here on how to do it and get started.

Content Writing

In the same way that forum marketing gets you in front of specific people and lets you show off your knowledge, content marketing does the same thing.  However, you get to be more in depth and “ask the questions” yourself by raising compelling topics. The benefits of content writing can be exponential, but it’s important to write more than a handful of high-quality articles. It’s the surest way to get your site back-linked by other places in your niche.  All of this can be done by starting a blog or newsletter.

Link Trading

Link trading isn’t just some throwback of the 2000’s. It’s a great way to get your website in front of others without spending a lot of money. Email another webmaster and offer to make a guest post or a straight link exchange. This generally works better if both sites are in the same niche and have a little more information on them than just a list of affiliate reviews. Don’t be afraid – you’re going to need to send your request to more than one webmaster. Even if a few don’t respond, the links you get will be well worth it.

YouTube

Yes, YouTube.  YouTube is completely free and an available platform for you to increase traffic to your website.  Create a YouTube video.  Some people are a little shy and don’t want to be seen in a video.  Instead, create a PowerPoint slide-show and add your voice.  If you don’t want to add your voice, add some music to your slide-show.  The possibilities are endless on YouTube.

Create Content Using Hashtags

Whenever you need to stand out, or you feel like you’re in a boring niche, think of some ways to create interesting related content with Hashtags.   Using Hashtags is a great way go get followers to your website.  Use it in Social Media, Blog Posts, Websites, etc.  In fact, go here and download your FREE Hashtag Handbook and put it into action.

Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarks offer an amazing combination of high traffic and authority, and search engines love seeing that you’re getting some traction on these social bookmarking sites. They attract people in your niche every day.  Sign up for these sites.  Bookmark the main site and individual pages on your site to pass along more back-links.

It’s a smart idea to use proxies so that these bookmarks aren’t seen as coming from one person.  Link to other sites and authorities in your niche to increase authenticity.  Rotate the sites you use to bookmark everyday so that you get traffic from multiple sources – search engines love this stuff.

Go here for the 10 Best Social Bookmarking sites.

With a little effort and consistency, you can bring some serious impact to your link building efforts without spending a dime.

These are just a few ways to generate free traffic for your business.  Give these options a try.  It certainly won’t hurt and best of all, it won’t cost you a dime.

Giving away something for free is another way to get free traffic while at the same time providing valuable information.
